This Spring, Evan Smotrycz played in the Gym Rat Challenge (University of Albany) and was selected to the 17 and under All-Tournament Team.  This was quite an achievement for a 15 year old playing in a 17 and under tournament that included over 1,000 participants and only 11 All-Tournament selections.   Evan then participated in two weeks of National Basketball Camps where some of the best high school basketball talent in the country goes.  He attended Five-Star Camp @ Robert Morris College, PA  from July 5 - 9th  and then attended Eastern Invitational Camp from July 12 - 15th at the College of New Jersey.  Evan had an outstanding showing at both camps making the highest level (NBA) All-Star Team at Five-Star and then was selected to play in the Top 20 game (highest level) at Eastern Invitational.  Even better, Evan was named the Most Valuable Player of the Top 20 game.   Evan then participated in the Nike Main Event in Las Vegas before attending the Pump Brothers Best of Summer Tournament in Los Angeles as a member of the Mass Rivals Basketball Club.  He then finished the summer in August at the Scott Hazelton Basketball School.  As a result, Evan is on his way to making a National name for himself and now has official division 1 interest.   The University of Georgia will be visiting Reading High School in September and Evan will be traveling to the University of Georgia in October to take an unofficial visit and take in an SCC football game.
